International Day of awarness of food loss and waste
Did you know that nearly a third of the food produced worldwide ends up in the trash* ? 💡
This alarming figure has a significant impact on the environment, the economy, and food security. To highlight this global issue, the United Nations established the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, which takes place every September 29.
At Novepan, we are convinced that everyone has a role to play. This is why we have implemented several initiatives to reduce our environmental impact. First and foremost, it is essential for us to focus on prevention at our production lines to efficiently manage stock and limit excess. Additionally, thanks to an innovative recycling process for our food waste, we manage to save dough at Lubrano. Moreover, we are committed to supporting local organizations by donating our food surpluses, thus contributing to reducing waste and feeding animals.
With our ongoing desire to improve, let’s take a step together toward a more sustainable future! 🌱
